To make your stay as cozy as possible, the house is equipped with a wood-burning stove. It not only creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere but also efficiently heats the space, even during colder seasons. 😊🔥

1. Preparing to light the fire:

  • Open all the air vents to ensure maximum airflow.
    • The chimney damper should be lifted up. (See photo 1)
    • The external air intake damper — located behind the fireplace — should be fully pulled out. (See photo 2)
    • The internal fireplace air intake damper should also be fully pulled out. (See photo 3)
  • Clean the ash pan of any leftover ash, if accumulated. (See photo 4)
  • Use kindling and small pieces of wood for the initial lighting.

2. Arranging the firewood:

  • On the very top — place thin kindling and the provided fire starter.
  • (Do NOT use flammable liquids!)
  • Place several large logs at the bottom.
  • Stack smaller logs crosswise above them.

3. Igniting the fire:

  • Light the top layer of kindling.
  • Leave the stove door slightly open (about 1–2 cm) to allow for good draft and faster ignition.
  • The flame will gradually burn from top to bottom, which reduces smoke and improves combustion efficiency.
  • Once the fire is burning well (after 10–15 minutes), close the stove door while keeping the air vents open.
  • When the stove is properly heated, you can add a few larger logs to maintain warmth.

4. Adjusting the burn:

  • Do not overload the stove with firewood — this may cause overheating.
  • When the fire is burning steadily, reduce the airflow by gradually closing the internal air damper. This will help preserve heat and prolong the burn.

5. After the fire:

  • Clean out the ash pan only after the stove has fully cooled.
  • Wait until the coals have cooled completely.
  • Leave the vents slightly open to allow for air circulation.

🚨 Do not use flammable liquids (e.g. gasoline, alcohol) to ignite the fire.
🚨 Do not extinguish fire or coals with water.
🚨 Do not leave the stove door open and unattended while burning.
🚨 Avoid overheating the stove by overloading it with wood – use the built-in thermometer to monitor temperature.
🚨 Keep children and pets away from the hot stove.

It is located on the bottom shelf of the hallway cabinet.
